Trippy Power

The Local

The moment feels painfully familiar—standing beneath weights too heavy to lift, realizing you're not nearly as strong as you wish you were. It's a perfect metaphor for life itself. We feel capable until anxiety hits, fears surface, relationships strain, and we discover our strength isn't enough.

But what if true power isn't about our capabilities at all?

This message explores how the Holy Spirit—the often-overlooked "secret sauce" of faith—empowers ordinary people to live extraordinary lives. Rather than struggling through on our own limited strength, we're invited into partnership with the same power that raised Christ from the dead.

Through the story of Peter and John healing a beggar at the temple gate, we discover how responding to the Spirit's gentle nudges transforms routine days into divine appointments. These weren't superhuman apostles performing superhuman feats—they were flawed, sometimes fearful individuals who simply said "yes" to God's prompting.

The true miracle wasn't just physical healing, but that ordinary people became sensitive to God's voice in their everyday routines. They remembered how Jesus had changed lives before and trusted He would do it again—through them.

What would change if we treated the Holy Spirit like our smartphones—never leaving home without conscious awareness of His presence? What if, instead of waiting for dramatic supernatural moments, we recognized the extraordinary potential in faithful ordinary actions?

Are you feeling weak today? Listen for the Holy Spirit's nudge. Who around you needs the hand of blessing only you can extend? The greatest miracles often begin with the smallest acts of obedience.

Speaker 1:

Now, have you ever wished you were stronger than you actually were? I mean like physically stronger, like, as you can tell, I'm not the biggest guy ever, you know. So, especially when I was in my late teenage, early 20s, I had dreams, probably similar to your dreams, of looking like Dwayne the Rock Johnson Come on, anybody. I wanted biceps so big that I can walk into a room and make babies cry. That was my goal. And so here you go. On my journey of getting buff like the rock, there was this one point I was like crushing at the gym. And I was going to this gym. One time went by myself at the YMCA, and it was chest day, because I had to get a good chest. You know what I'm saying. And so I was crushing it. Regular bench press, bam Crushing it. I did an incline, Bam Crushing it. Then my body went to do the decline, but my arms didn't come with me. Okay, so here you go, I'm on the decline. I don't know if you've ever seen that. You're literally laying back on it. It and I put the weights on it. It was a lot. I put the weights on it, I get into position, I unrack. Let me add one more time I'm in this gym by myself, I unrack the weights, I put it down to my chest and then I go. I couldn't do it. I was stuck and I'm looking around like, is someone in here, someone help me? And I thought to myself this is it, this is how it ends. They find me laying on this bench press, gone with big dreams and ambition, and flat, and so, luckily, I was able to somehow push the barbell over my head, dropped it on the floor and I just did like that, you know, like I meant to do it. Needless to say, I kind of hung out with cardio more after that. Okay, but here's the thing. Isn't it true that in life, man, you can have moments where you're feeling strong? You're feeling powerful, you feel like man, things are going good, but then, but then life hits. Anxiety hits, fears hit, worries hit, kid problems hit, marriage problems hit, work problems hit. All the different shows you got to watch at one time hit, and you discover you're not as strong as you wish you were, or you're not able to do it. You feel weaker than you thought, and so here you go.

Speaker 1:

This is what I want to say to us today. We've been in this series leading us to Easter in this Lent series leading us to Easter called Trippy, where we've been talking about this far out doesn't make sense unconditional love that God has for us. And what we have discovered in this series is that God pursues us, that God goes after us, that he loves us so much that he goes after us. And then we discover so, if God pursues us, how do we consent, how do we say yes to God? Through spiritual habits? And last week we talked about the relief that we get through a life of holiness, moving towards Jesus and saying I want to go after you.

Speaker 1:

Today, what I want to talk about is kind of, like you can say, is the secret sauce for the whole series. It's how we can live in step with the power of the Holy Spirit. The power of the Holy Spirit. And so I'm excited for this because the truth is. The truth is God pursues us. We can have spiritual habits, we can pursue holiness, but the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead, the Bible says, lives in us that the Holy Spirit wants to work in you and through you to do things more than you ever dreamed, thought or imagined. And the Holy Spirit is to work in you and through you, to do things more than you ever dreamed, thought or imagined. And the Holy Spirit is on your side. And so I'm excited to share that with us today, because I don't believe that Jesus came so that we can live a powerless life.

Speaker 1:

I don't think Jesus came so we can live a defeated life. He came to give us life, and life to the full. Not a decent, not a barely making it, not just barely able to get there, but a life, man, that is full, a life of relief, of a life that says my life matters and there's something to it. Okay, so here you go, as everyday people who have everyday life going on. How do we not only believe in God, but how do we walk in step with God daily? And that's where the Holy Spirit comes in. And if we're honest, myself included, we often forget to walk in step with the Holy Spirit and some of us are like well, what does that even mean? What does it even mean to walk in step with the Holy Spirit? Like, what are you talking about? Here you go.

Speaker 1:

The best illustration I could think is think about your phones. Rarely do you leave your house without your phone? Rarely do you go anywhere without your phone? You always have it with you. If you're in a long line at the grocery store, what do you do? Take out your phone. If you're at dinner with someone and they leave to go to the restroom, what do you instantly do? Grab your phone, like we're addicted to our phone. That's a problem. That's a whole nother message.

Speaker 1:

But when it comes to the Holy Spirit, what if we treated the Holy Spirit like that? What if we treated God's presence like that? I can't go to work without the Holy Spirit. I can't go to school without the Holy Spirit. I can't even go to Walmart without the Holy Spirit. The truth is, though, if you're in Walmart, you definitely need the Holy Spirit with you. That place gets crazy. It gets weird in there. Okay, here you go.

Speaker 1:

This is what Jesus says, though, about the Holy Spirit. I love this. John 14. He says Father will send in my name. Well, check this out. We'll do what. We'll teach you all things and remind you of everything I have said to you, and this is what it says. This is what this means. You can experience this trippy power from God. You can experience a power that is beyond your own abilities, beyond your own steps, beyond what you can do, but there's a power from God that wants to move through you and do amazing things. This is the promise of the Holy Spirit and it's like a nudge, it's a reminder, it's a tap and, to kind of keep in step with our phone illustration, it's like a push notification. Come on Now, here you go.

Speaker 1:

The Holy Spirit nudges us daily and there's a story in the Bible I want to look at at two disciples who respond to the nudge of the Holy Spirit and watch what God does in their lives. Okay, here you go. The Holy Spirit would nudge us in our ordinary routines and lead us to something extraordinary. The Holy Spirit would nudge us in our ordinary everyday routines, our everyday, ordinary doing this thing, doing that thing routines, and move us towards something extraordinary. See, here you go. God is in the business of the extraordinary and as Jesus followers, we should expect the extraordinary in our lives. We should expect the extraordinary in our daily lives, with our families, with our work environments, wherever God has placed us. But here you go. But the extraordinary often comes from an overflow of ordinary things. Here you go. The extraordinary that we want often comes from an overflow of faithful ordinaries.

Speaker 1:

There's a guy in our church. He showed up to work the other day and he had his Starbucks coffee, because you always gotta have your good coffee. And he showed up and then one of his co-workers was like, man, I wish you would have got me one. And so he said, well, tell me what your favorite coffee is. And he told him. The next day, on his way to work, he got himself a coffee. Then he got his co-worker a coffee, came in to the office and said hey, I got this for you, man. His co-worker was so blown away by the act of kindness and he's like what you really thought about me? Later that day he told me that his co-worker sent him a message and they ended up talking and ended up meeting up and he was able to share his faith about Jesus through one simple, ordinary act of giving someone a coffee. See, here you go.

Speaker 1:

If you're looking for the miraculous, be diligent in the ordinary. If you're looking for God to do something incredible with your life, man, be faithful with the ordinary. Be faithful with your daily time with the Lord. Be faithful with looking to when you see people loving people, not passing over, people being encouraging to people. Be faithful in the ordinary and you will see the extraordinary at work, because it's actually in the mundane routines of life, in the intentional time you spend with God, that the Holy Spirit will begin to nudge you. You will become sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Take us out.

Speaker 1:

Acts 3 says this. One day. I love this. One day, just a one day, an ordinary day, your normal day. One day, peter and John, the disciples, were going up to the temple at the time of prayer at three in the afternoon. Now, this is just an ordinary thing. This is an ordinary day, and there was three times a day that the people would pray in the temple morning, noon and night. And we see that this is a daily time that they would spend with the Lord and check out what happens here. Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. Now, most scholars believe that this man was around 40 years old, who sat at the temple gate and who begged daily. And why did he go to the temple gate, though? This is an important question. Why did he go there? Because in that culture, many Jewish people believed that giving to the poor would earn God's love, would earn God's love, would earn favor with God. So they didn't necessarily give to the poor out of an overflow of compassion, out of like being moved by the poor, but out of a desire to get God's good side, to get on God's good side, so out of a religious obligation, not an overflow relationship with God. So the beggar knew this. This guy was smart, he knew this. He said he knew that these people are going to try to get in good with God. So the beggar knew this. This guy was smart, he knew this. He said he knew that these people are going to try to get in good with God. So I'm going to take advantage of it, I'm going to put myself in this spot because when they're feeling generous, they're going to give to me, they're going to give to me. And so this is what happened. This was his normal routine, this was his. They had a set time of prayer and people were more generous. So he showed up. This was his. They had a set time of prayer and people were more generous. So he showed up, same place, same time, same station, hoping for a hand. That was funny. Hoping for a handout. It was his ordinary routine. But then scripture says this one day, one day on a one day, ordinary day on a one day, normal day on a one day, my normal routine kind of day. On a one dayday, normal day on a one-day, my normal routine kind of day on a one-day, god was ready to do something amazing and I want you to know today, lvc, that on your one-day, ordinary, normal days, god is always ready to do something extraordinary with your life. God is ready to take your one-day, ordinary routine days and do something incredible beyond what you ever asked, dreamed or imagined. So check this out. Here you go.

Speaker 1:

On this one day, peter and John walked up to the temple on their normal day, and when Peter and John were about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said look at us. I don't know why he was so aggressive, but he said look at us. So the man gave him his attention, expecting to get something from them. The crippled man was expecting to get what he normally got on this ordinary, normal day. He was expecting to get some loose change. He was expecting the ordinary. But Peter looks at him and John looks at him, and then they get this nudge from the Holy Spirit.

Speaker 1:

They get this nudge in the Holy Spirit. They get this thing in them that says this is not just supposed to be something I'm supposed to pass up on. And I don't know about you, lvc. Sometimes you may get moments where you're supposed to reach out to someone, or a moment where you're supposed to call someone, a moment where you're supposed to be generous to someone. That's not an act of random. That is the Holy Spirit working in you to do His work. Can I put a pastor hat on for a second? Can I pastor us?

Speaker 1:

Sometimes we're so caught up in our own notifications that we miss out on God tapping us to do His work, to do His business. And so here you go. And so they have a decision. They have to make, though, they have a decision. This is the thing I love about God. The Holy Spirit nudges them, and God says it's up to you. Holy Spirit doesn't nudge us and say you better do this now or force us to do something. Holy Spirit drops something in you and say it's up to you to do it. What are you going to do with it? What decision are you going to make. And so they have a decision to make. They either respond to the Holy Spirit or they respond to their ordinary routine. Check this out.

Speaker 1:

Then Peter said silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk. So I love this. I love this. See, when I read this verse, I don't read it like I think most people read it. I don't read it like most people read it, like in this sense that like Peter was like overconfident. That Peter was like one of those televangelist people In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Silver or gold, I don't have, brother, but what I do have I give you. And they start doing the dance.

Speaker 1:

I don't think that's how he was doing it. I don't think he was that just like passionate about it and just yelling in this man's face. You know, I don't think that's how it happened. And the reason why I don't think that? Because Peter wasn't a very brave guy. Peter was actually a very courageous guy. I mean not courageous guy, cowardly guy. He didn't always make the right decisions Because, check this out, just months prior to this moment, peter is running away from people because Jesus is being crucified.

Speaker 1:

Then Peter is confronted by a 12-year-old girl. He says aren't you one of his followers? And he's like I don't know him. I've never even seen a guy before I get him. So to me it says that Peter isn't very brave. See, here you go, lvc. We got to stop reading the Bible like it's a book filled with a bunch of superhuman people doing superhuman things. Instead, the Bible is completely the opposite of that. Throughout the 66 books of the Bible it's filled with the mess-ups, the not good enoughs, the JV squad. But God uses ordinary people to do His extraordinary work Throughout the Scriptures.

Speaker 1:

Try to find a verse, try to find a Scripture where there's a superhuman doing something super great. You can't find it because I think it was more like this. I think Peter said it more like silver or gold. See the way my bank account was set up. I got checking in the savings and I'll give you some, but I got most of it in my savings and take about two to three business days for to go for my savings to check it. So silver or gold I don't got, but what I do have I'll give to you John. You know what I'm talking about. John's like that's you? That's you Silver or gold? I don't have. What do I do? How do I give you, in the name of Jesus Christ, of Nazareth, walk and check this out. Taken him by the right hand. Here's what I want you to see, lvc. Whenever God nudges, we must respond. We must step out. Taken him by the right hand, he helped him up and instantly come on. The man's feet and ankles became strong. He jumped up to his feet and began to walk and Peter is probably like wait, what it works. This is trippy man. This happened and then he went into the temple courts, walking and jumping and praising God, and it was an ordinary day and Peter was just an ordinary man.

Speaker 1:

But when we respond to the power of the Holy Spirit, one day can become the day that God moves in your life. One day can be the day that God moves in your life. One day can be the day that God takes the crippled situations and brings them back to life, because the Holy Spirit reminds you if God did it before, he can do it again. If God did it before, he'll do it again. You may be like Jacob. What do you mean? Do what again? I mean that he will do it again. You may be like Jacob. What do you mean? Do what again? I mean that he will do it again. Do what he will do the stuff again. He will do the things that he did in the Bible through you. That you can pray for the sick and they will be healed. That you can speak words of encouragement to people and it can change the whole trajectory of their lives. That God wants to do it again. See, the Holy Spirit would give you confidence. If God did it once, he can move again.

Speaker 1:

Now Peter has the Holy Spirit inside of him and the Holy Spirit was nudging him to do something extraordinary, but I wonder. I wonder why he moved in this direction. Why would he heal a beggar? Now, like the verse I read earlier, jesus said what the Holy Spirit will remind you of everything I have said, and when Peter and John were looking at this crippled man sitting at the gate, it would have reminded them of an event that they experienced with Jesus. It would have reminded them of a moment they had with Jesus when Jesus did something similar. And here's what I want to tell us, lvc when our todays are bringing us an anxiety that we feel like we cannot handle, a fear that makes us feel like we want to cave into an uncertainty about tomorrow. Lvc, we got to get good at remembering what God has done before. We got to get good at remembering how God healed before, how God moved before that. I'm here right now because God has been with me. So check this out.

Speaker 1:

So they would remember this time of the story when they met this man named Bartimaeus, and he was a blind beggar, and Jesus was walking with his 12 disciples, peter and John being a part of that group, and there's a crowd around Jesus at this time, thousands of people surrounding Jesus. And then the Bible says Bartimaeus was sitting on the street begging. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? He's doing his ordinary routine and he hears that Jesus is walking by and he cries out son of David, have mercy on me. Now, the title son of David is more than just a statement. It's a title of the Messiah, and when people refer to Jesus as the son of David, they meant that he was the long-awaited deliverer, the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies. So here is this blind beggar that makes this connection that Jesus is the one that can save us, jesus is the one that can change us. Jesus is the deliverer.

Speaker 1:

But here's the funny part in the story, because the 12 disciples were doing their normal thing. They were walking with Jesus. There's a big crowd, even though this blind beggar was able to make the connection that this guy is the Savior. The 12 disciples told that blind beggar well, you just sit down, will you stop talking? Which then led Bartimaeus to what Shout all the louder Son of David, have mercy on me. And I just want some people to know when people have tried to shut you down, when people have tried to discourage your faith, don't sit back, but shout all the louder God, I need more of you. When your discouragements are trying to preach louder than the Holy Spirit inside of you, shout all the louder God, you're for me, not against me. When you're about to give up on your kids, you pray all the more louder that God, I ain't giving up on them because you haven't given up on them. Lvc, we got to get good at getting a little bit louder, come on, because there's a lot of things that will try to drown out the voice and the presence of God in your life. But when that happens, say God, I'm getting a little bit louder, I'm going to pray a little bit more and so check this out. So check this out Then and one of the people that was probably trying to shut him up most likely was Peter, because that's something that he would do and then check this out.

Speaker 1:

Jesus stopped and said call him. So they called the man over Cheer up on your feet. I don't know why they became British all of a sudden. Cheer up, jelly-o, he's calling you. But that's what happened. Throwing his robe aside, check this out. Throwing his robe aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. What do you want me to do for you? Jesus asked him. Jesus, why are you asking them questions? Why are you asking that You're insensitive, jesus?

Speaker 1:

We see this in another story in John's gospel, john, chapter 5, where Jesus walks up to a crippled man and he says do you want to get well? Well, of course I want to get well. Of course I don't want to be crippled anymore. What can I do for you? Why does Jesus ask these questions? The reason why Jesus asked these questions is because sometimes we can be living in our brokenness for so long. Brokenness becomes home. Brokenness becomes home. We can be living in our dysfunction for so long. That dysfunction is where we pitch camp and Jesus is saying hey, hey, I know you've been there for a long time, but what do you really want? What can I do for you? How can I help you? And Bartimaeus says Rabbi, I want to see Go. Jesus said your faith has healed you Immediately. He received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

Speaker 1:

So here's a story about Jesus meeting the need of a beggar. And it says he throws off his robe and he jumps to his feet. See, in that culture, jewish people will give robes to the poor to certify them as legitimately poor people. So they knew when they gave their gifts to the poor, it was going to an actual poor person, because they didn't think God would count it if it was someone. It was going to an actual poor person because they didn't think God would count it if it was someone who was trying to take advantage of the situation. So they put a robe on them so everyone would know you are certified poor. And when Jesus calls him, come on. When Jesus calls him, he throws off his robe, he throws off his label, he throws off his false self and he begins to walk towards the well which is his true self. Friends, I don't know what robe people have tried to put on you. I don't know what words people have tried to spoken over your life. I don't know what decisions you have made and you painted a picture of yourself based on those things. But what I do know is this silver or gold I don't have, but Jesus calls you and when he calls you you can throw off the former things and move towards new life.

Speaker 1:

Peter would have remembered this event when he stood before the crippled beggar at the gate and you could assume that the man was wearing his certified poor robe as well. And Peter knew that God just didn't want to meet this man's temporary needs. But God wanted to meet what he really needed. Peter's faith in God would increase if God did it once. Then God can do it again. See, the Holy Spirit would give you confidence that God is for you.

Speaker 1:

The Holy Spirit will nudge you and remind you that God has this under control, and sometimes we can feel like Peter. We can look at our crippled situations with this fear inside of us is my marriage ever going to work out? Are my kids going to get it right? Is my health going to get any better? Can I actually get out of this debt? But the nudge from the Holy Spirit will begin to remind you.

Speaker 1:

If Jesus changed the life of a beggar before, he can change the life of a beggar now. If Jesus fixed marriages before, he can do it again. If Jesus healed the sick before, he can do it again. If Jesus was faithful before, he will be faithful again. If Jesus helped one family, jesus can help yours. If he did it once, he is faithful to do it again. Come on church. If he did it once, he can do it again. And the Holy Spirit will bring this into our hearts because here's the truth, guys. Here's the truth.

Speaker 1:

We have so many things trying to tell us how God can't work and how God can't come through and how you messed up too much. But my confidence does not come from my broken situations. My confidence comes from a risen Messiah who did it once and he will do it again. And so Peter is standing there knowing if God did it once, he can do it again. But here's the best part, here's the best part. He wants to do it again, but here's the best part, here's the best part. He wants to do it through Peter, who is just an everyday person who's learning how to become a Jesus follower. So the Holy Spirit will nudge you and remind you of the goodness of God, and the Holy Spirit and the nudge of the Holy Spirit will allow you to see daily miracles Like as in every day.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, jacob, what you talking about, I'm glad you asked. See, it was just an ordinary day, it was just a one day. Maybe it's just me, guys, that sometimes I wake up and that day doesn't feel like my day. You ever been there? Sometimes you survey your situation, what's going on in your life? You say this ain't my day. Sometimes I think to myself why am I doing this? See, life happens and sometimes it can feel overwhelming. But even in our hardships, the kingdom of God is at hand and we pray God's agenda first. We pray His kingdom come on earth as it is at hand and we pray God's agenda first. We pray His kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. And I'm telling you, then we can begin to experience God daily.

Speaker 1:

See, the definition of miracle is something supernatural happening in a natural environment. Peter and John were walking up to the temple. They were doing their normal thing. Then they performed one of the most famous miracles in the early church. That really set the early church off and going See. In my opinion, though in my opinion, the biggest miracle was not the man being healed. That's a big deal. That's a big deal, but that wasn't the most important thing that happened.

Speaker 1:

The miracle is something supernatural happening in a natural environment, and I think the most supernatural thing that happened is when Peter and John saw someone in need, someone whom they probably saw before, given money to before. This time, instead of passing him by, they responded in a place of love. They responded from a nudge of the Holy Spirit. The miracle was that in their ordinary routine, in their daily time with God, they became sensitive to the nudge of the Holy Spirit. They just didn't see a crippled man who sits there every day begging at the same place. At the same time, they saw a man who had a bigger purpose than the condition he was in, and if you want to see miracles daily in your life, begin to love the people you see every day Like. Really love them.

Speaker 1:

People are waiting for the miraculous, but they are missing opportunities right in front of them. So here you go. We're not going to gossip about our co-workers. We're not going to complain about that boss. We're not going to hold on to bitterness against our spouses, but instead we're going to encourage someone, we're going to hold the door open for someone, we're going to begin to love the people God has put right in front of us. And when that happens, when the church can love like that, miracles begin to happen. Lives begin to change, generational curses begin to be broken, hope restored, Faith given. Life happens when the church can respond to the nudge of the Holy Spirit, not in these chairs, but those spaces and places that God has put us. And when we, when we can walk around with the Holy Spirit closer than our iPhones, come on, that would be a miracle. Things will begin to change, and I love this part, I love this portion of the story.

Speaker 1:

Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up. Peter grabbed him by the right hand. The man spent his whole life as a beggar, as a cripple, being carried to one place to another, and the Bible says that he grabbed him by the right hand. The man spent his whole life as a beggar, as a cripple, being carried to one place to another, and the Bible says that he grabbed them by the right hand, and the right hand is considered the hand of blessing. See, peter grabbed him by the right hand and picked them up to his feet, saying God still wants to bless you, god still wants to lift you up. So, lvc, who are we grabbing by the right hand, reminding them that God still wants to bless you? And he jumped to his feet and began to walk.

Speaker 1:

And he went into the temple courts, walking and jumping, doing the stanky leg, praising God. And when all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the same man who used to be sitting begging at the gate, called Beautiful. And they were filled check this out. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at what just happened. See, not only did Peter and John change this man's life, but the people all around them were changed. And it was all because they responded to a nudge, to a nudge of the Holy Spirit.

Speaker 1:

And here's the best part you don't have to be a pastor to respond. You don't have to have a seminary degree. You don't have to have a seminary degree, you don't have to be a perfect person. You barely have to have your life figured out. You just got to be a person that says God, would you use my life for something more? Because what the Bible reminds us is that we're refreshed not when we just take care of ourselves, not when we just focus on ourselves, but we're refreshed when we refresh others. So I'm going to start looking out. Start looking out and saying God, who do you want me to love, who do you want me to be there for? Because that's what it's all about Helping everyday people learn how to become Jesus followers. That's the invitation, that's the mission.

Speaker 1:

And with Easter coming, this upcoming week, next week, man, let's reach people for Jesus. I mean, let's do it, let's do it. Questions of application. Number one is this when in your daily routine might the Holy Spirit already be nudging you, and are you listening? Are you listening In your ordinary routines? Maybe God wants to move in your life there? Question number two who around you might need a hand of blessing, someone you can lift up with love? Today let's pray God, jesus, holy Spirit, holy Spirit, nudge us towards you, move in our lives, come, holy Spirit.

Speaker 1:

I just hear the phrase God's not done with you. Yet God's not done and there's more than you ever dreamed, thought or imagined. I feel like the Holy Spirit is saying you're actually just at the beginning. You're just at the beginning of the journey I have for you. Come on, come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit. There's some people in here that you can actually relate to.

Speaker 1:

The man at the gate You've been begging for a life change and that's like the Holy Spirit is saying he sees you, he sees you, he sees you right where you are and he says take off the rope. That is not your identity anymore, identity anymore. Come, holy Spirit. And Lord, I just pray for God's stories that you will use us, lord, to make stories of impact and change, that we will use us, lord, to make stories of impact and change that we will look at and say only you, god, must have been in that. Come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit. Let's pray to the Holy Spirit saying, saying you're at a crossroads, you can go left or you can go right. Come, holy Spirit. Let's play the Holy Spirit speaking directly to someone, holy Spirit speaking directly to someone, maybe more, but directly to someone. You're at a crossroad and how you handle this decision. He says trust him, walk his way, walk in step with the Spirit and it will not disappoint you. Come, holy Spirit.

Speaker 1:

So if you're in here today and you're like Jacob, this sounds good, but I do not know this Jesus you're talking about. If you want to make a decision to trust Jesus for the first time in your life I mean really trust Him I just want to pray for you, right where you are. Just right where you are, I'm going to count to three and I just want you to shoot a hand up in the air so I can see who I'm praying for. But if that's you, if you want to trust Jesus, you want to give your life to Jesus for the first time, on three, just toss your hand up in the air. One, two, three, amen, come Holy Spirit.

Speaker 1:

If you're in here and you feel like man, I just want to get better at responding to the nudge of the Holy Spirit, really understanding God's voice. Just toss your hand up too, so I can see what I'm praying for Amen. So, lord, you see all the hands. So, lord, I pray for those who want to hear your voice more clearly. Lord, you see all the hands. So, lord, I pray for those who want to hear your voice more clearly. Lord, to respond to your nudge. Bless them, lord, empower them to be the shakers and the movers of this world. Fill them up with your Holy Spirit from head to toe. Lord, do what only you can do In Jesus' name, amen, amen, amen. Let's give God some praise in here today.
