Trippy Faith
Have you ever done something that immediately made you wonder, "What was I thinking?" Life often presents us with moments that defy logic—from impulsively punching a yellow jacket (bad idea!) to facing unexpected tragedies that leave us questioning everything. These moments of confusion mirror the very first Easter morning when nothing made sense to Jesus' followers.
The disciples were hiding behind locked doors. The tomb was empty. Everything they believed had been shattered overnight. Yet in this chaos, authentic faith was born. This is what I call "trippy faith"—believing when circumstances contradict logic, trusting when answers aren't visible, and moving forward when everything tells you to quit.
Faith isn't wishful thinking or blind belief. It's deep-rooted, gut-level trust that God remains at work even when we can't trace His hand. The most powerful aspect of Easter isn't just that Jesus rose—it's that He specifically sought out doubters like Thomas, meeting them in their uncertainty rather than demanding blind acceptance.
What if your doubts aren't failures but doorways? What if your questions aren't disqualifications but invitations to dig deeper? The disciples saw the resurrected Jesus, yet a week later were hiding again behind locked doors. This reveals something crucial: faith isn't a one-time decision but a daily choice to trust.
Whether you're wrestling with disappointment, uncertainty, or outright skepticism, Easter reminds us that Jesus pursues us precisely in those moments, offering not condemnation but invitation. How might your perspective shift if you viewed your doubts not as reasons to give up but as signposts to press in? What would change if you brought your questions to God rather than hiding from Him?
Discover how to develop a "trippy faith" that persists when life makes no sense, that digs deeper when challenges arise, and that transforms doubt from an obstacle into a pathway to authentic relationship with God.

Now, have you ever done something that, immediately after you did it, you don't know why you did it, like it just made no sense, like what was I thinking? What was going on? I had a moment. I have a lot of moments like that, if I'm being honest, but last summer I had a big one. Okay, here you go.
Speaker 1:Last summer I had this great idea of I had a great dad idea, I should say of doing some backyard camping. Come on, I had to add a whole vision for it. We were going to roast marshmallows, we were going to tell stories, we were going to sit under the sun, under the stars, and the moment we got tired of nature, we would go inside to our nice AC house. Okay, I was ready for it. Okay, so here you go. I got this tent off of Amazon, set it up. You know, we're out there, the kids are out there, they're playing, they're having fun running in and out of the tent, pretending they're explorers. It's great. And then, but then they show up those little winged demons, yellow jackets. These yellow jackets show up and me and yellow jackets have a really bad relationship. It's complicated. And so here you go. So I'm by, like the entranceway of the tent and my daughter, kingsley, sitting next to me, and there's this one little yellow jacket that's flying low to the ground near us. And this is the moment where all logic exits my body, all sense goes away. I tap Kingsley and I said watch this. That sentence always leads to something bad. Okay, I said, watch this. And I ball up my fist and I go Mike Tyson, bam as hard as I can on this yellow jacket, punching the ground. And the moment I say bam, the moment I I say ah, because that stinger from the yellow jacket embedded in my knuckle, I was screaming, my hand tripled in size. I wish I took a picture of it.
Speaker 1:Needless to say, camp night was over, but it was one of those things. Even when I reflect on it, I have no idea why I did it. I don't know what I was thinking. It did not make sense. All logic left my body.
Speaker 1:And now here's the thing, though Haven't all of us done something like that? Maybe not punching yellow jackets, but we've all done things afterwards like why did we do this? You know, because sometimes that happens in life, sometimes we do things that doesn't make sense, and sometimes life happens though Life happens and it doesn't make sense, things that we have no control over, things that we didn't know what was happening, and it doesn't make sense. You get blindsided, you hit a wall, you find yourself in their place and you're asking questions like why did this happen? Why did this happen? What am I supposed to do now? Or one question I think a lot of us ask God, are you even in this, god? Where are you in this? Where are you in this? And here you go. That's exactly what happened on the first Easter morning. That's exactly how the first Easter was on the first Easter morning. That's exactly how the first Easter was.
Speaker 1:The very first Easter didn't make sense. Jesus had been crucified, dead, buried. The disciples were in hiding, the women went to the tomb and found it empty. And they're like what is happening? Where is his body? Why are there angels here? Did he really rise from the dead? Are we losing our mind? It was trippy, it was confusing, it was illogical, it was unexplainable, and that's what faith often is. That's what faith often is.
Speaker 1:See, today I want to talk to you about something I'm calling a trippy faith, a faith that doesn't always make sense Because, let's be honest, we live in a culture that we want everything explained to us. We want to know all the answers. My kids, all under the age of six, if they have a question they don't have an answer to. You know what they do. They say, hey, google, they already know and Google gives them the answer. Now, here you go. There's nothing wrong with facts, and I believe our faith is deeply rooted in truth and in evidence.
Speaker 1:But the very first Easter, well, faith didn't make sense. Jesus was dead buried game over, and yet yet that's where real faith was born. And maybe you're in here today and life doesn't make sense for you. You got questions without answers. You're facing pain you didn't ask for, you're walking through a season you didn't plan, and so here's the question that we must ask today how do we have a faith that makes no sense in a world that makes no sense? How do we have a faith that makes no sense? How do we have a faith that says I'm going to keep moving forward when everything else tells me to quit? How do I have a faith that believes for God to heal when the doctor report says the opposite? How do you have a faith that you can trust that there's a purpose when the pain is all so real. How do we have a faith that makes no sense? Because, here you go, you don't do it by moving forward because you understand, you don't believe because you see results. You don't trust because it's easy. You choose faith, you choose faith, and often the truest faith is born not in clarity but in chaos, in chaos In the times that we don't understand. Here you go.
Speaker 1:I like this. The older I get, the older I get, the more I love the Easter story, the more I love it. And the reason why I love it as the years goes by, because the more personal the Easter story becomes, it starts to become more personal. Now, to truly understand the power of Easter, we got to pause, not at the empty tomb, but we got to go back a couple of days.
Speaker 1:Ok, picture this Jesus just crucified, still hanging on the cross. The crowd is watching, it is not silent. There's murmuring, there is chaos, there is pain, and somewhere in the back of the crowd you got a few disciples who didn't leave. You have his mother, mary, and you got some of the women who followed him faithfully from Galilee. But you wanna know who wasn't there at that moment? There was no Christians there. There is no church, there is no Bible, there is no believers.
Speaker 1:Because in that moment, every hope was crushed, every dream was scattered, every follower was left confused, devastated and heartbroken Because the one who they believed was the Messiah, the Savior King, now stood helpless as their leaders, partnered with Rome, falsely accused leaders, partnered with Rome, falsely accused, condemned and murdered the greatest man they ever met. See, in less than 24 hours, jesus was arrested, tried and murdered, and they did not see it coming. And doesn't life happen like that? Things happen and we do not see it coming. Things happen and we weren't ready for it. And even with all the control that we believe we have, we still can never control the uncontrollables. There's still things that happen. See, this wasn't a part of their plan. And here's what I want to say True faith often comes in the dark seasons.
Speaker 1:True faith often comes in the dark seasons. It's easy to have faith when everything's flowing, when everything is going good, when life is great. Yeah, just have faith and you should have gratitude in the good seasons. But as everyday people who have everyday ups and downs, schedules and routines, problems and challenges, how do we have a faith for our daily lives? How do we have a real, authentic faith and you're going. What do I mean by faith? Hebrews 11 says it like this Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. That's good. Another way you can say it is like this Now trust is confidence in what we hope for and the assurance about what we do not see. You can swap those words faith with the word trust, because that's what really. That's what faith really is.
Speaker 1:Faith isn't just some like magical belief. It's not just some magical power. It's not wishful thinking. Faith, at its core, is deep-rooted, gut level trust. It's trust that, even when I can't see it, god is still working, god is still at play. Faith isn't just a belief. It's trust that, even when life doesn't make sense we all know this. We all know this you can't have an authentic, real, life-giving love without trust. We know this. We know this in our marriages, we know this in our relationships, our partnerships. We know this. We know this in our marriages, we know this in our relationships, our partnerships. Without trust, they won't work. They wouldn't work. Faith is something we all have and, to all degree, we all use, see.
Speaker 1:The better question might be this, though, is where do you put your faith? Where do you put your faith? Is your faith in things that you're familiar with? Is that where we put our faith? I'm familiar with it, so I have faith in that. Is your faith? Is your trust only in things that you're comfortable with? Let me say something about comfort. Just because it's comfortable doesn't mean it's good. Just because something's comfortable doesn't mean it's your purpose. Just because something's comfortable doesn't mean it's beneficial and so. But maybe we put our faith there because it's comfortable, maybe that's what we do. Or do you put your faith in things that you convince yourself that you can control, but we know we can't? Here you go.
Speaker 1:I love the way the Passion Translation says it. It says it like this and without faith living within us I like that faith living within us it would be impossible to please God. So this faith, according to the Hebrew writer, is not something externally, but it's connected to something internally. Faith is a matter of the heart. It's a matter of the heart, it's a knowing God. It's not just a knowing God intellectually, but it's a deep-rooted gut-level. I know God in my heart. I know Him, I experience Him, I know Him through and through. That's the kind of trust, that's the kind of faith. See, true faith comes in the dark because it is in the seasons of our lives that we can't control, that we don't have the answers, that things aren't working out as planned. That's when we can really activate faith within us, deep-rooted trust. This is a faith that doesn't make sense, because everyone else around you will begin to say why do you still have faith? Why do you still have trust? Look at this situation, look at that thing. But there's something in you that says this may not be going the way I want it to go. This may not be going the way I planned, but I know my God brought me from this and he's going to bring me through this too. It's a deep rooted, gut level trust that that's where I'm going. That's what I'm doing. Because here you go, back to Easter Sunday. Back to Easter Sunday.
Speaker 1:Very early on that Sunday morning, the women made their way to the tomb carrying the spices they had prepared. Among them were Mary, magdalene, joanna and Jesus' mother Mary. I want you to see this. I want you to see this the women, the women, come with the spices. They come to the tomb with the spices because they are the spice girls. Spice up your life, oh sorry. Spice up your life, oh sorry. They came with the spices, not expecting a resurrection. They came with the spices to anoint a dead body and they did this as an act of devotion and love. And this is what I want you to get LVC. In their disappointment, in their disillusionment when things didn't go the way they want, they still chose to worship. They still chose to worship. They still went to Jesus.
Speaker 1:Arriving at the tomb, they discovered the huge stone covering the entrance had been rolled aside. So they went in to look, but the tomb was empty. The body of Jesus was gone. They stood there, stunned and perplexed. Suddenly, two men appeared above them, dazzling in white robes, shining like lightning. Terrified, the women fell to the ground on their faces. The men in black oh wait. The men in white said to them why do you look for the living one in a tomb? He is not here. Come on, for he has risen. Come on, amen.
Speaker 1:They came to the tomb with a disappointed heart, with their sadness, with their brokenness. But this is what I want you to get. They came anyways. They came anyways. They could have ran away. They could have said I guess he wasn't who.
Speaker 1:He said he was Mary Magdalene who was among them. Her whole life she was used and abused. She had trauma after trauma until she met Jesus and Jesus spoke purpose to her life. Jesus gave her a new life. And many, many theologians would say Mary Magdalene was the first apostle. And though she had all this, she said because I met Jesus, I'm going to go and anoint him anyways. Because she found grace, she found hope.
Speaker 1:But they came to the tomb with disappointment. Guys, guys, friends, faith, faith is acknowledged in your disappointments. It's okay to have doubt, it's okay to not have all the answers. They came with a disappointment but they left with a faith that didn't make sense. Here you go, it continues. It says have you forgotten what he said while you were still in Galilee? The destiny of the Son of man is to be handed over to sinful man, to be nailed to a cross and on the third day to rise again. Check this part out All at once. They remembered his words. See, here you go.
Speaker 1:Sometimes, when we face hardships, we forget to remember. We forget to remember, friends, don't doubt in the dark seasons of your life what God spoke to you in the light. Don't doubt in the seasons when things aren't going the way you want what God has promised you, because faith gives us the ability to be aware of what God is doing, even when things around us say the opposite. And, much like the angels in this story, I want to remind some people in here today that you are still called, that your life still matters, that you don't have to give up yet, that God is faithful and he won't let you down. And you may have been hurt by the people that you love the most. You may have been hurt by a past church experience. You may have been disappointed and let down, but don't forget to remember. Disappointed and let down, but don't forget to remember. Don't forget to remember where God spoke over you. Leaving a tomb, they went to break the news to the 11 and all the others of what they have seen and heard.
Speaker 1:Second thing is this faith comes behind the locked doors. Our doubts, our doubts. Faith comes behind the locked doors. See, even though the women had this amazing encounter, most of the disciples were locked in their room on Easter Sunday night. They didn't have a rack of lamb, they didn't have no ham, they didn't have any carrot cake, because that's what you're supposed to have on Easter. They didn't have that. They were sad they were eating TV dinners or something. But check this out that evening the disciples gathered together and because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders, they had locked the doors. So here are the disciples, locked in a room, afraid, and yeah, that makes sense. I would be afraid too. I would be afraid. Everything they hoped for, everything they betted their lives on for the last three years, was gone overnight. It was gone. I would have doubts and fears too.
Speaker 1:Lvc, can we be honest today? We all have doubts. We all have doubts. Life comes and it brings doubt in us. We have doubts in ourselves. You want to know the reason why we have doubts in ourselves? Because we in ourselves. You want to know the reason why we have doubts in ourselves? Because we know ourselves, because we know ourselves and we know our tendencies and we know the masks that we put up often and we know the way we try to project ourselves, that hide from how we really feel, and so we have doubts. We have doubts in ourselves. We have doubts in our marriage. We have doubts with our kids. Sometimes we have doubts in our workplaces, doubts in our future. We have doubts with our kids. Sometimes we have doubts in our workplaces, doubts in our future, doubts in our finances, and we even have doubts in God. That's okay, it happens, it happens.
Speaker 1:Let's talk about doubt for a second. Okay, because I don't know who started the rumor. Someone started it and we got to figure out who it is. But somewhere along the way this idea came that doubt equals failure, that if you have questions, somehow you're a bad Christian, like, oh no, oh no, I'm struggling with my faith. I better keep smiling. Everything is fine. God is good all the time and all the time God is good. And there's just like this fake thing that we try to do Listen, listen. Doubt is a part of the journey. It's a part of the journey. Doubt doesn't disqualify you. Doubt doesn't distance you from God. Doubt is often the doorway to deeper trust. And get this, get this, get this.
Speaker 1:Jesus, our Savior, had doubts. That may even make you feel uncomfortable for me to say it, but it's true. And let's look at the Bible In the garden, right before the cross, he's sweating blood. I've been stressed out before, but never that stressed. He's sweating blood, he's overwhelmed. He prays Father. If there's any way, take this cup from me. You know what that sounds like to me.
Speaker 1:A person experiencing doubt, help from me. You know what that sounds like to me A person experiencing doubt, a person experiencing hardship, someone who's not sure where to go or what to do. That's what I want you to get about Jesus, though here's what blows my mind, because in that moment, jesus didn't run from God. He ran to God. He doubted, but he drew near. See, let me say this to you Doubt all you want, just doubt with Jesus. Doubt with Jesus, talk to him about it, bring your fear, bring your mess, your chaos, your questions, because he can handle it. See, doubt is not your notification to give up. Doubt is your signpost to get deeper, to dig deeper. Guys, I got to tell you something. I've been working. I've been doing that insanity workout again. Anyone remember that from the 2010s?
Speaker 1:Sean T, you got to do like hopping and jumping and push up in, and Sean T, be yelling at people dig deeper. You got to dig deeper. Here's one of the biggest problems in the world and that's a big statement, but I mean it. One of the biggest problems in the world is that we have a whole bunch of Christians that have a surface level relationship with Jesus and they don't know how to dig deeper. You don't know how to dig deeper. Pain comes I guess he wasn't for me. Troubles come I guess he's not that good for me. Troubles come I guess he's not that good. And I'm going to say to you today we got to dig deeper because we got too many churches that promote surface level Jesus. And if our world is going to change, if your family is going to change, if the breakthrough that you're looking for is going to happen, you must dig deeper. We got to dig deeper. We got to keep pressing into the things of God. See LVC on Easter Sunday.
Speaker 1:Whether this is your first time or not, if you're new to faith, if you're exploring faith or not, this is my challenge for everyone. We must spend daily time with God. We must spend days. I would say this to you If you're skeptical of faith, if you're trying to figure things out, give God 10 minutes of your day, the first part of your day, the principle of first things, and watch how different your week will be. I guarantee it. I guarantee it. Watch what will happen.
Speaker 1:See, because the breakthrough you want is in the spiritual habit of daily time with God, and bring your doubts, your fears. I like this. Jesus appeared among them and said peace to you. I like how Jesus shows up. Peace to you, everybody. Jesus shows up. And here's the truth, though when we get in the habit of spending daily time with God, jesus just starts to show up. When we get in the habit of daily time with God, jesus just starts to show up at my workplace. He starts to show up in my family. He starts to show up in my finances. He starts to show up in my dreams. When I spend time with God, all of a sudden, jesus just starts showing up. He just starts to come in, busting through the room. You might have locked doors in your heart, walls you put up because of fear, trauma and disappointment, but Jesus can walk through the locked doors.
Speaker 1:And they were startled and frightened, thinking they saw Casper, and he said to them why are you troubled? Why do doubts rise in your mind? I love how Jesus acted. Like this wasn't a big deal, jesus, you were just dead three days ago. We saw you, bro. You acting like this ain't a big deal. He said look at my hands, look at my feet and his eye myself touched me to see a ghost does not have flesh and bones as I have.
Speaker 1:And when he said this, he showed them his hands and their feet and they were like this is trippy, man. They're like this is trippy, like Nathaniel, what you put in those gummies, like this is trippy. You weren't there and now you are. I'm going to tell you this. Sometimes that's how faith is.
Speaker 1:Faith is a little trippy. It doesn't make sense. It might make you feel a little crazy. You might have a nudge on your heart that maybe marriage counseling is the thing that we should do. But I don't know. I don't know If I present that to my spouse, they may think I'm crazy. Do it anyways, do it anyways. You may say to yourself I don't know if I present that to my spouse, they may think I'm crazy, do it anyways, do it anyways. You may say. You may say to yourself I don't know if I can forgive that person what they did to me, man, it hurt me. But I have this nudge from the Holy Spirit saying that I should offer forgiveness. But it's crazy faith for me to do it and I say forgive them anyways, not to release them from what they've done, but to release your heart of bitterness. See, I say forgive them and I say it might be crazy to stop this one job and start a new career that you know God has been burning on your heart to do. Do it anyways, because it might be a little crazy, it might seem, it may not make sense.
Speaker 1:He asked them do you have anything here to eat? Jesus, come on. They gave him a piece of fish. He took it, ate it in their presence. This is the funniest scripture ever to me Jesus standing there, disciples, trying to figure out if they're going crazy or not. And Jesus is like can someone start the fish fry please? I've been dead for three days. I'm hungry, but Jesus did this to prove that he was bodily resurrected. It wasn't just a allegory, it wasn't just some spiritual thing, that he was bodily resurrected. And so, if he was bodily resurrected, it says to us what we do with our bodies matter. It says what we do with our bodies matter. It says what we do with our lives matter. It's how we choose to present ourselves to God.
Speaker 1:But, jesus and this is what I want you to get you have doubts in your life and I don't know what they are. Maybe they're past relational hurts, bad business decisions and addictions and anxieties. But Jesus is faithful to prove the evidence of his goodness when you step out in faith. Faith isn't required when everything aligns, lines up perfectly. That's not faith, that's just a good decision. You should make it if it's good. But faith is required when everything isn't perfectly aligned, when it is a little messed up, when all the details haven't been disclosed. But you know you're called to this and you say I'm going to go for it anyways. Faith, so a faith that doesn't make sense. It comes often in the dark, it comes often with doubts, but faith will always be a decision you have to make. It will always be a decision you have to make. It will always be a decision you have to make.
Speaker 1:See, I always feel bad for Thomas, the disciple. Thomas, he made one bad decision and he get a nickname for the rest of his life Doubting Thomas. Imagine if that happened to you. You did one bad thing and that's your nickname forever. Thomas wasn't at the fish fry, he didn't get pinged, he didn't get the notification, he didn't get the memo.
Speaker 1:So after Jesus leaves again and all the disciples are hyped up, thomas comes back. I guess he was working a double, I don't know what he was doing. And he's like why is everyone so excited. Aren't we supposed to be sad right now? And they're like Thomas, tommy, jesus is back. Baby, is that a good dance? And Thomas is like why are you guys always joking all the time? You guys always joking. You're always saying stories. You never listen to me. I try to tell you about Judas. Now look at us. You never listen to me. I try to tell you about Judas. Now look at us. Thomas is upset. They're like no, thomas, for real, he's bad. Jesus is bad. Check out what Thomas said. They're like Jesus is bad because he ate all the tilapia. He made us a nice vintage from that bucket of water. It was a good time. Check this out. He said to them unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were and put my hand on his side, I will not believe.
Speaker 1:And we're honest today, church, most of us feel like Thomas. God, I got to see it. Because I don't see it right now, can you give me a little something? I'm stepping out of faith and I still don't see it. I'm trying to do your work and actually the opposite is happening. I don't see it and I know this thing isn't good for me, but I keep going back to it because I can't see it without it. Thomas says unless I see it. The faith is always a decision to be made. It's a choice in the darkness and the doubt. You have a decision to make it. Here's a crazy part of the story, and we read over this part of the story so easy in our Bible. But check this out.
Speaker 1:Eight days later, the disciples were together again. This time Thomas was with them. Check this out, and the doors were locked. Wait, wait, wait a second, wait, a second, wait, a second. It's been over a week since the disciples saw Jesus. It's been over a week since the disciples saw Jesus. It's been over a week since they saw the resurrected Jesus. And Thomas is like see, I told you it was 420. You guys are tripping and the disciples locked the doors again. I want you to see this LVC.
Speaker 1:The disciples saw the resurrected Christ, they saw Jesus. Then life happened. Fear came back, doubts inserted themselves back into their hearts and this screams to me that our lives as Jesus followers isn't just a one-time great moment. I love Jesus and that's great, but it's an ongoing process of getting to know Jesus more and more every single day. It's a daily walk of becoming like Jesus, to be with Jesus, to become like Jesus so we can do what Jesus did.
Speaker 1:Thomas is like I told you and the disciples, like maybe he was right, but suddenly come on as before. I love that Because if Jesus did it once, he can do it again. If Jesus did it once, he can do it again. And I want to give some hope to people today. I want to give some faith to people today. If Jesus healed marriages before, he can heal yours today. If Jesus gave purpose to people before, he can give you purpose today. If Jesus spoke words of life to people, he can speak them to you today. Because if he did it once, he can do it again, because he hasn't failed. And guess what? He's not going to start with you. He can do it again.
Speaker 1:And Jesus was standing among them. Peace, be with you, he said Then. Then he said to Thomas I love this Jesus. Knowing his doubts pursues him. He's the pursuer who is always on pursuit for us. Put your finger here, look at my hands, put your hand into the wounds on my side. Don't be faithless any longer. Believe this time. You don't have to doubt he's saying I any longer. Believe. This time you don't have to doubt. He's saying I'm here, I'm right here, friends, he's here, he's right here, right here with you. He's Emmanuel, god with us. He's God with us.
Speaker 1:And check out the response of Thomas my Lord and my God. He shouts out Thomas didn't say the Lord, the God. He says my Lord, my God. This is not doctrine, this is devotion. He's not intellectually acknowledging who Jesus is. He's surrendering ownership to him. His language is of relationship, heart level, transformation. After all the doubt, this is not a half-hearted response, it's a full-on surrender.
Speaker 1:Thomas went from doubting to declaring, and that's what Jesus does for us. He takes everyday people like Thomas, like you and like me, and he invites us into something much deeper, not just to know about Him, but to follow Him, to trust Him, to walk with Him. And that's what faith is. That's what becoming a Jesus follower looks like. So maybe you're not sure about all of this. That's okay, that's okay. Maybe just checking things out and you feel a little bit of doubt but a little bit of hope. You don't have to have it all figured out to start following Jesus. At LVC, we believe that helping everyday people like you take your next step with Jesus is what it's all about. So, no matter where you are, he comes to you, he loves you, he's for you and not against you.
Speaker 1:Two questions of application. Question one how can you invite God into the dark or doubtful areas of your life this week rather than hide in them? Question two how can you have a faith? That doesn't make sense. Let's pray God, jesus, holy Spirit, thank you Lord, thank you, lord. We say more of you, we say more of you, lord, and we invite you, lord, into the dark seasons. And I just feel like the Holy Spirit is saying you may feel like your season isn't dark, but it's uncertain, it's not clear, there's no clarity, you're not sure where to go. I just feel like the Holy Spirit is saying invite him into that, invite him into your uncertainty. Come, holy Spirit, we are not in a rush, not in a rush.
Speaker 1:Maybe you've been wrestling with doubts in your faith, asking us questions God, where are you in this thing? Again, I feel the nudge of the Holy Spirit saying it's a signpost. Draw near to him, lean into him and, like Thomas, unless I see it. And so, lord, I just pray faith over people, even when we don't see it. Lord, we trust you, even when we're not sure, even when it's beyond our comfort zone. Let us not be too comfortable. Jesus, thank you that you rose again, that you came back for us. You may be in here today and you're like Jacob that sounds good but I don't know this Jesus you're talking about.
Speaker 1:I never made a personal decision to follow Jesus. That's you. I just want to pray with you. I'm not going to call you out, nothing like that. It's right where you are. Or maybe you have followed Jesus before, but life got in the way Things happen and you're saying, man, I want to make a decision to follow Jesus again. I want to trust Jesus with my life again. If that's you, I want to pray for you too. What I'm going to do? I'm going to count to three and on three. You can just toss your hand up in the air to see who I'm praying for. Again, I'm not going to call you out. Have you come up front? Nothing like that. Just right where you are.
Speaker 1:If you want to make a decision to trust Jesus with your life for the first time or recommit your life back to Jesus, I'm going to count to three and on three. Just toss your hand up in the air. One, two, three. Bless you, bless you, bless you, bless you, bless you, right where you are, you can just say this prayer out loud, or you can say it in your heart Say Jesus, forgive me for my sins, make me new Today. I trust you with my life Today. I follow you In Jesus' name. Amen, amen. Let's give God some praise in here today.
