What do you do when life looks like a clear-cut forest? In this message from Isaiah 11:1, we explore the promise that "a shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse" and what it means for anyone standing among the stumps of loss, whether that's a lost career, a frightening diagnosis, or the death of someone they love. Through a deeply personal story of grief and slow renewal, this sermon makes room for honest lament, invites us to take the next faithful step, and points to Jesus as the shoot who was struck down but not destroyed. New life doesn't erase what was lost. It grows from it.
